  Stimulation One

While "Cementing One" is not a requirement for this course without completing Basic Cementing One the participant will not have the pre-knowledge of; using a pipe book, calculating hydrostatic pressure, calculating differential pressure, basic volume and height calculations and using tables and formulas.

This course covers, among other related things:

  • Ø  Volume of rectangular, up right cylindrical and horizontal cylindrical tanks
    • o   Calculating a bbl/inch volume factor for each tank
    • Ø  Fracture Gradients
    • Ø  Bottom hole treating pressure
      • o   Instantaneous shut in pressure (Pi or ISIP)
      • o   Hydrostatic Pressure
      • o   Friction Pressure in pipes
      • o   Differential pressure across a perforation
      • o   Well head pressure
      • Ø  Fluid calculations
      • Ø  Acidizing limestone, dolomites and sandstone formations
        • o   Recommendations for proposing job volumes
        • o   Dangers of Hydrofluoric Acid
        • o   Acid Fracturing vs Matrix stimulation (Acidizing)
        • o   Retarded acid jobs
        • Ø  Acid/water volume
        • Ø  Basic calculations for nitrogen volumes
        • Ø  Equipment requirements
        • Ø  Sand off calculations for volume left in pipe, height of sand and top of sand
        • Ø  Safety around equipment, chemicals, pressure and gasses

Browning Training reccomends that Basic Cementing One be completed before attending this course that, however is not a requirement.
